Meet Lisa Brumfield
CEO & Founder of Marathon Financial Group
Lisa's Story
Lisa enjoys educating clients about the financial world – she wants everyone to enjoy the fruits of their labor, which is why she is passionate about helping retirees reach their goals. She specializes in offering sound fiscal guidance while keeping things simple. For 34 years, Southern Californians have trusted Lisa to be their financial advisor because they recognize she’s driven by a core motivation to serve others.
Entering the field in 1991 as a retirement specialist, Lisa has her Series 65 and life & health insurance licenses. After much success, Lisa decided to branch out on her own and started Marathon Group Financial in 2015.
When she’s not helping clients, Lisa enjoys time with her three sons Joshua, Tyler and Noah, especially traveling in the RV! Her love for running inspired the name of the company, Marathon Financial Group.

- Serving on the Board of Directors for Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (her oldest son has Crohn’s, and this organization helped Lisa’s family when they needed it most)

Meet Our Team

Miguel Torres
Office Manager
Miguel is the Office Manager for the company. He considers himself in charge of “Keeping the train on the tracks” and moving things forward.. He aspires to help other people succeed, and he does this by helping the team and, by extension, our clients. Miguel is caring, respectful, and always willing to go the extra mile to help others.
Miguel is experienced in bookkeeping and has owned multiple businesses prior to working with Marathon Group Financial. Management is, obviously, something he has an affinity for. He graduated with a degree in Bookkeeping and Computers from Cabot College in 1994.
When not assisting clients, he works out, or simply relaxes and watches movies. Miguel is married with 4 children, and has 2 dogs.

Victor Leonino
Business Manager
Victor Leonino, as Business Manager, is responsible for managing new business accounts and overseeing the servicing of existing accounts. He helps clients set up their new accounts as well as move through the process, and enjoys doing it. Helping people with this challenge is what he lives for. He’s hardworking, loyal, and respectful.
Victor has a background in account management: he worked for a Managing General Agency for about 300 public schools for around 13 years. The main focus of this work was helping school employees set up supplemental retirement accounts. He’s worked with Lisa Brumfield in the past, and was looking for more challenging (and more fulfilling) work. Hence, this job.
Victor lives in Orange Country with his long-term girlfriend, Christina, and their dog, Maggie.

Alexa Sohail
Client Services
Alexa Sohail is in client service. She handles answering the phone, scanning documents, creating policy binders, sending annual review and bonus letters, getting client folders ready, and processing paperwork.
Alexa, prior to working with us, worked at a law firm and an Ophthalmology Practice.
When not assisting clients, she enjoys going for runs or spending time with her family: She’s married with two children.

Melissa Brooks
Marketing, Graphic and Web Designer
Melissa was born in Austin, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin. As someone who loves to travel and explore new cities, she moved up and down the East Coast and eventually settled in Rhode Island, since it was on the ocean. She began working with Gibbs Financial Group over 9 years ago and continues to work closely with the GFG marketing team expanding the brand. She now owns her own design and marketing company. In her free time, Melissa enjoys gardening, hiking, the beach, of course creating art! She also teaches art to “at-risk” youth in Rhode Island.

Patcher
OUR REAL CEO
We refer to this little pudgy furball as our real CEO. That’s because he’s a boss, for sure. When he’s not waiting patiently by our neighbor’s fence for his daily treat, Patcher loves to be with people. He loves the attention our clients give him, and he pretty much never leaves our side. (Unless, of course, there is food nearby.) Patcher’s accomplishments include: chasing a rabbit until it punched him in the face, surviving a brawl with a Chihuahua, and eating more than you’ve ever seen a dog eat. Let’s just say he likes people more than animals. Looking for something to brighten your day? Come say “hi” to Patcher.
